Celebrating Inclusive Excellence: Fixby House Nursery Earns Dingley’s Promise ‘Mark of Achievement’
We are incredibly proud to announce that Fixby House Nursery has been awarded the Dingley’s Promise ‘Mark of Achievement’, a nationally recognised symbol of commitment to inclusive practice in the early years. This award is a significant milestone for our team and reflects our deep-rooted dedication to ensuring that every child — regardless of ability or need — is given the opportunity to thrive in a nurturing, supportive environment.

A Team Effort Rooted in Passion and Progress
What makes this recognition even more meaningful is the incredible effort our team has put into professional development. Over 75% of our staff have completed more than 15 hours of specialist training in inclusive early years practice through Dingley’s Promise. This extensive training has equipped us with the knowledge and tools to better support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and to ensure that inclusion is at the heart of everything we do.
Our staff’s enthusiasm for learning and growth is matched only by their passion for creating an environment where every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated. The ‘Mark of Achievement’ is a testament to this collective spirit — a symbol of the real change we are making every day.
What This Means for Our Families and Community
At Fixby House Nursery, inclusion isn’t just a concept — it’s a daily practice. From adapting learning activities and environments to building strong partnerships with families and local professionals, we are continually working to ensure that all children have equal access to opportunities and a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Earning the ‘Mark of Achievement’ doesn’t mark the end of our journey — it inspires us to go even further. We are committed to ongoing learning, reflection, and improvement, ensuring that every child who walks through our doors receives the best possible start in life.
Thank You
We want to take this moment to thank our dedicated staff, supportive families, and the team at Dingley’s Promise for empowering us with the resources and training to grow. Most importantly, we thank our children — whose unique strengths, challenges, and joyful spirits remind us every day why inclusive practice matters so much.
Together, we’re building a brighter, more inclusive future — one child at a time.
